国际模式识别协会（The International Association for Pattern Recognition，IAPR）成立于1978年，由世界各国模式识别领域的专家和团体组成的国际性学术组织，是模式识别领域最权威的国际性学术组织之一。IAPR Fellow 于1994年设立，每两年评选一次，授予模式识别领域的杰出科研工作者及活动组织者。会士选拔过程严格，须有已当选会士进行引荐，且当选率不超过会员总数的千分之 2.5。
